Army Hand-Release Push-Up Standards Calculator
Use this Army hand-release push-up calculator to turn your two-minute repetition count into AFT points. Enter your age, scoring sex and the standard that applies to your test.
Count only completed repetitions that meet the hand-release protocol. The combat-specialty standard uses the male scoring table for everyone; your age still affects the score.
You’ll see your points, the minimum for your category and the repetitions needed for your next scoring step. The chart shows how nearby repetition counts change your score, and you can save the result for your next practice check.
What Your Army Hand-Release Push-Up Score Means
Read your points beside the repetition count and scoring category. Meeting the push-up minimum clears one AFT event; your deadlift, sprint-drag-carry, plank and run still count toward the full test.

Enter Results You Can Compare
Enter the number of valid repetitions completed in two minutes, not the number you attempted. Use the Army hand-release technique rather than a regular push-up count.
Select your age on the test date. For combat-specialty scoring, choose the combat standard even if you would normally use the female general table.
How Repetitions Change Your Score
How many more valid repetitions would move you to the next score? The chart keeps your age and standard fixed and compares nearby repetition counts.
The graph starts with the worked example below. Calculate above to replace it with your result; the table beneath the graph lists the same values.
Orange dot: example. Dashed line: event minimum.

How Your Army Points Are Calculated
The calculator looks up your repetition count in the published Army table. A count between listed repetition counts earns the highest score you have reached, so an extra repetition does not always add a point.

A Complete Scoring Example
This example uses the male table at age 17 and general standard.
| Event | Recorded result | Points | Event minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hand-release push-up | 15 repetitions | 60 points | Met |
The result earns 60 points for this event. The other test events must be scored separately.
Test Rules and Official Sources
The scoring tables are dated June 1, 2025; the current Army policy determines the general and combat-specialty requirements.
This is a practice calculation. A test administrator decides which repetitions, attempts and event choices are valid. Save the date and inputs with your result when you want to compare another practice test.
How long is the Army hand-release push-up event?
The event lasts two minutes. Count only valid hand-release repetitions performed under the Army protocol.
Is ten repetitions always the passing minimum?
No. Use the current table for your scoring category. For example, a male age 17 needs 15 repetitions for 60 points; a female age 17 under the general standard needs 11. Combat-standard scoring uses the male/combat column.
Can I save and compare practice results?
Save on this device keeps the date, recorded event results, category, target and rule version in this browser. A later matching practice compares points and the gap to your current target. Endura account saving is separate. Illustrative examples cannot be saved.
