Army AFT Plank Standards Calculator

Use this Army plank calculator to convert your recorded hold time into AFT points. Enter the time in minutes and seconds, then choose your age and applicable standard.

Use the time recorded when the valid plank ended, not your target time. Enter whole seconds and follow the Army position and termination rules when you test.

You’ll see your points, the minimum hold time and the next scoring step. The chart compares nearby times for your category, so you can see what a few more seconds would change.

What Your Army Plank Score Means

Your plank points depend on the recorded hold time and age category. A minimum plank score covers this event only; it does not establish an AFT pass.

Calculate above to see your result here.

Enter Results You Can Compare

Enter a whole-second time such as 1:30. Do not include time held after the test administrator ended the valid attempt.

Use your age on the test date and the assigned general or combat-specialty standard. Keep the same position and timing rules when comparing practice holds.

How Hold Time Changes Your Score

The chart holds your category fixed and compares nearby plank times. Look for the next step in points rather than assuming every additional second earns a point.

The graph starts with the worked example below. Calculate above to replace it with your result; the table beneath the graph lists the same values.

How Your Army Points Are Calculated

The calculator matches your hold time to the published Army table. Your score stays the same until you reach the next listed time. Enter whole seconds; the calculator does not accept fractions of a second.

A Complete Scoring Example

This example uses the male table at age 17 and general standard.

The result earns 60 points for this event. The other test events must be scored separately.

Test Rules and Official Sources

The scoring tables are dated June 1, 2025; the current Army policy determines the general and combat-specialty requirements.

This is a practice calculation. A test administrator decides which repetitions, attempts and event choices are valid. Save the date and inputs with your result when you want to compare another practice test.

What time passes the Army plank event?

The minimum depends on the current age category. For age 17, 1:30 earns 60 points. Use the selected category table for other ages.

How should I enter a plank time?

Enter the officially recorded time in minutes:seconds, such as 1:30. Use whole seconds; the calculator does not accept fractions of a second.

Can I save and compare practice results?

Save on this device keeps the date, recorded event results, category, target and rule version in this browser. A later matching practice compares points and the gap to your current target. Endura account saving is separate. Illustrative examples cannot be saved.
