FBI Pull-Up/Chin-Up Standards Calculator

Use this FBI pull-up and chin-up calculator to score your completed repetitions for the current applicant PFT. Choose your scoring sex and enter the number of valid repetitions.

Palms-away pull-ups and palms-toward-you chin-ups use the same table. Repetitions must be continuous, without swinging or kipping, and return to full arm extension.

You’ll get your points, the minimum count and your next scoring step. The chart shows how nearby counts score; age and grip choice do not change the applicable table.

What Your FBI Pull-Up and Chin-Up Score Means

The minimum is 1 point: two repetitions in the male table or one in the female table. Zero completed repetitions earns 0 points and misses the event minimum, even if the other events score well.

Calculate above to see your result here.

Enter Results You Can Compare

Count only full, continuous repetitions with the required return to arm extension. Do not combine incomplete repetitions or use momentum to finish them.

Choose the scoring table used for your test. Pull-ups and chin-ups share that table; unlike some other fitness tests, this FBI event is not adjusted for age.

How Repetitions Change Your Score

The chart compares nearby repetition counts in your chosen table. Use it to see the next points step rather than treating the event minimum as your full-test target.

The graph starts with the worked example below. Calculate above to replace it with your result; the table beneath the graph lists the same values.

How Your FBI Points Are Calculated

The current FBI table assigns 0–10 points to this event. At least 1 point is required, but a full PFT pass needs 1 point in each of four events and at least 10 total.

Test Rules and Official Sources

These are the current FBI applicant PFT web tables, not the older sit-up test. The official pages do not give an effective date.

This is a practice calculation. A test administrator decides which repetitions, attempts and event choices are valid. Save the date and inputs with your result when you want to compare another practice test.

Are pull-ups and chin-ups scored differently?

No. The current FBI event uses the same sex-specific table for palms-away pull-ups and palms-toward-you chin-ups. Count only complete, valid repetitions without swinging or kipping.

How many total points pass the current FBI PFT?

At least 10 total, with at least 1 point in every event. The current events are pull-ups/chin-ups, 300-meter sprint, push-ups and 1.5-mile run; legacy sit-up and 12-point rules do not apply here.

Can I save and compare practice results?

Save on this device keeps the date, recorded event results, category, target and rule version in this browser. A later matching practice compares points and the gap to your current target. Endura account saving is separate. Illustrative examples cannot be saved.
