FBI PFT Calculator

Use this FBI PFT calculator to score pull-ups or chin-ups, the 300-meter sprint, push-ups and the 1.5-mile run. Enter the results from your practice test and choose your scoring sex.

The current test requires at least 1 point in every event and 10 total. Age does not change the scores, and the four events are completed in order with no more than five minutes of rest between them.

You’ll get your total, each event score and a check of the full-test requirements. The chart shows which events contribute to your total and whether any event is still below its minimum.

What Your FBI PFT Score Means

Read both the total and all four event minimums. Four minimum scores add to only 4 points, so they do not pass the 10-point total requirement. The maximum is 40, and negative event scores reduce the total.

Enter Results You Can Compare

Enter continuous pull-ups or chin-ups, sprint seconds to one decimal place, continuous untimed push-ups and the run time in minutes:seconds. Enter the run time in whole seconds.

Keep the official event order and rest limit. If you walked during the run, mark it in the calculator: walking disqualifies that event and gives −2 points regardless of the time entered.

Compare Your Event Scores

The four event bars share a points scale, including negative scores. Check every bar against the 1-point minimum before using the total to plan your next practice test.

The graph starts with the worked example below. Calculate above to replace it with your result; the table beneath the graph lists the same values.

How Your FBI Points Are Calculated

Each result is matched to a score in the current FBI table, then the four scores are added. Passing requires at least 1 in every event and at least 10 total. A total of 6–9 is not a pass; retest eligibility is a separate FBI decision.

A Complete Scoring Example

This example uses the female table and general standard.

Worked example
EventRecorded resultPointsEvent minimum
Pull-ups / chin-ups1 rep1 pointMet
300-meter sprint64.9 seconds1 pointMet
Push-ups14 reps1 pointMet
1.5-mile run13:591 pointMet

The event scores add to 4 points. This does not meet the base full-test requirements because the total is below 10.

Test Rules and Official Sources

These are the current FBI applicant PFT web tables, not the older sit-up test. The official pages do not give an effective date.

This is a practice calculation. A test administrator decides which repetitions, attempts and event choices are valid. Save the date and inputs with your result when you want to compare another practice test.

Are pull-ups and chin-ups scored differently?

No. The current FBI event uses the same sex-specific table for palms-away pull-ups and palms-toward-you chin-ups. Count only complete, valid repetitions without swinging or kipping.

How many total points pass the current FBI PFT?

At least 10 total, with at least 1 point in every event. The current events are pull-ups/chin-ups, 300-meter sprint, push-ups and 1.5-mile run; legacy sit-up and 12-point rules do not apply here.

Can I save and compare practice results?

Save on this device keeps the date, recorded event results, category, target and rule version in this browser. A later matching practice compares points and the gap to your current target. Endura account saving is separate. Illustrative examples cannot be saved.
