Stationary Bike Calories Calculator: Effort & Time
See how many calories your indoor ride may burn with our stationary bike calories calculator. Get an estimate that reflects your workout time and chosen effort.
Choose general cycling, a spin class, or a listed watts range, then enter your active minutes.
Resistance levels differ by bike. Use a watts range only when your bike displays watts. If your watts fall between listed ranges, choose only a category that matches.

How the estimate works
How this estimate is calculated
The selected published cycling value is combined with your body weight and active time. The full session total includes energy used at rest; the separate “above rest” figure subtracts that baseline.
Total kcal = MET × body weight in kg × minutes ÷ 60; resting kcal = body weight in kg × minutes ÷ 60; kcal above rest = total kcal − resting kcal. Values are rounded after the calculation.
A stationary-bike example
About 238 calories total for 30 active minutes of Indoor cycling, general (30 min) at 70 kg body weight. This includes estimated calories at rest; about 203 are above rest.
What the calorie totals mean
The full session total includes estimated calories at rest. “Calories above rest” subtracts that baseline. Figures are rounded separately, so displayed values may not add exactly.
Choosing a cycling description
Resistance levels are not universal watts, and unlisted watts ranges are not filled in. Published activity averages cover adults ages 19–59.

Stationary-bike questions
Can I enter my bike’s resistance level?
No universal conversion exists. Choose a listed activity or use watts shown by your bike.
What if my watts fall between listed ranges?
Choose a listed range only when it matches. The calculator does not estimate between ranges.
