How the Plate Pinch Hold Calculator Works

Stand upright with one matching plate pair clear of the floor, smooth faces outward, pinched between thumb and fingers in one hand, free hand unsupported, and timing beginning only after the plates are stable. During the attempt, keep the same two plates pinched together without rim or hub purchase, hand or forearm body contact, plate separation, regrip, walking, or outside support.
Stop at the first plate slip or drop, rim/hub purchase, regrip, body contact, step used to save the hold, assistance, or voluntary end. Entered load is the combined labeled weight of the two matching plates in the one tested hand; do not double it, add bodyweight, or combine separate-side loads. Test both hands separately with the same plate pair and setup; enter the shorter continuous valid time.
