Leg Press (45° Sled) vs Silver Dollar Deadlift Strength Standards

Compare your leg press and silver dollar deadlift against strength standards for your sex and bodyweight. Enter 1–12 reps for estimated one-rep maxes, strength levels, next targets, priority.

First lift: total plates loaded on the 45-degree sled and 1–12 strict reps. Second lift: weight used and 1–12 strict reps. Pounds or kilograms. For the first exercise, keep both feet flat and approximately shoulder-width, descend until the thighs reach at least parallel to the platform without lifting the hips or rounding the lower back. For the second exercise, pull continuously to motionless full knee/hip extension with shoulders behind/in line with bar; no hitch, thigh ramp, downward reversal, box rebound, or backward lean. Heavier lift is not automatically the stronger one.

How Your Leg Press vs Silver Dollar Deadlift Result Is Calculated

The calculator estimates both one-rep maxes, rates each one against its exercise and bodyweight standards, and then compares the two ratings.

1. Estimate a one-rep max from each set

When the set contains one rep, the entered load is the estimate. For 2–12 reps, the calculator keeps the less aggressive of the two formula results.

  • Epley: weight × (1 + reps ÷ 30)
  • Brzycki: weight × 36 ÷ (37 − reps)

Set quality matters for this Leg Press vs Silver Dollar Deadlift comparison. Enter technically consistent, challenging sets, and prefer lower-rep results when practical because the estimate extends less far beyond the performed set.

2. Find the 45-degree leg press strength level

The 45-degree leg press rating uses its sex-specific exercise standards. Reference targets at 190 lb for men and 150 lb for women are scaled to the entered bodyweight by reference target × (user bodyweight ÷ reference bodyweight) to the two-thirds power.

Two-thirds scaling raises the target as bodyweight rises while limiting the size advantage that a direct one-to-one adjustment would create.

3. Find the silver dollar deadlift strength level

The silver dollar deadlift rating uses its sex-specific exercise standards. Reference targets at 190 lb for men and 150 lb for women are scaled to the entered bodyweight by reference target × (user bodyweight ÷ reference bodyweight) to the two-thirds power.

This adjustment expects larger lifters to move more weight, but it does not increase the target pound for pound with bodyweight.

4. Compare the two results

Each max receives a level from Beginner through Elite. The lower-level lift becomes the priority. At matching levels, a priority appears only when one lift is at least 10 points farther from its next level; otherwise the result is Balanced.

A priority result is a standards comparison, not a diagnosis. Differences in technique, fatigue, practice, or set effort may influence it. Age range is recorded anonymously and does not alter these standards.

StageWhat happens
Estimate each maxUse the entered weight for 1 rep; for 2–12 reps, keep the lower formula result.
Rate the leg pressAdjust 45-degree leg press targets to exact bodyweight with the two-thirds rule.
Rate the silver dollar deadliftUse the exercise-specific estimated max and adjust targets to exact bodyweight with the two-thirds scaling rule.
Compare different levelsName the lower-level lift as the priority.
Compare matching levelsUse Balanced unless the difference in progress toward the next level reaches 10 points.

The calculator above applies these steps to your exact entries and reports both lift ratings, both next targets, and the final comparison.

Leg Press and Silver Dollar Deadlift Exercises Used by This Calculator

Compare like-for-like attempts by keeping the 45-degree leg press and silver dollar deadlift setup consistent with their individual rules. Use strict, repeatable Leg Press and Silver Dollar Deadlift tests that follow each exercise’s setup, range of motion, equipment, and load rules. Do not mix variations, assistance, partial range, momentum, or different load conventions.

Use a 45-degree plate-loaded sled leg press

Keep both feet flat and approximately shoulder-width, descend until the thighs reach at least parallel to the platform without lifting the hips or rounding the lower back, and press to controlled full knee extension. Do not enter a horizontal, vertical, selectorized, single-leg, high-foot, partial, bounced, or assisted press.

Use the Silver Dollar Deadlift setup and load convention

Use straight stiff 20 kg power bar connecting/passing through two identical rigid side boxes positioned outside hands. At dead stop, shaft center is exactly 18.00 inches (457.2 mm) above level floor; lifter stands on floor. Secure ballast symmetrically inside/on boxes so nothing shifts. Weigh/verify total apparatus weight including bar, collars/connectors, boxes, and ballast; enter total, never nominal box contents or per-side mass. Conventional stance with hands outside legs. Double-overhand/hook/mixed grip or securely applied standard/figure-8 straps allowed; record strap status. Deadlift suit/supportive briefs prohibited. Begin motionless with apparatus fully supported. Pull continuously to motionless full knee/hip extension with shoulders behind/in line with bar; no hitch, thigh ramp, downward reversal, box rebound, or backward lean. Lower under control to complete dead stop; reset. Whole reps 1–10. Belt, sleeves, wrist tape, chalk, shoes allowed.
