DOTS Calculator
Use this DOTS calculator to compare a powerlifting total with totals achieved at other bodyweights. Enter your bodyweight and combined squat, bench press and deadlift total, or enter the three lifts separately.
Choose the male or female formula used by the 2019 DOTS coefficients. The result is a powerlifting comparison score based on raw drug-tested results; it is not a health score, general-population percentile or label such as good or elite.
You’ll get your DOTS points, the total and bodyweight behind the score, and a personalized chart showing the same total across bodyweights. Save the result to keep the formula choice and lift total together.
What Your DOTS Score Means
Your DOTS result combines one complete powerlifting total with the bodyweight and male or female formula shown in the result card. Use those details together; the points alone do not explain which lifts made up the total.
A higher score means a larger total relative to bodyweight under this formula. DOTS does not grade technique, compare individual lifts or assign a general strength level.

Enter the Total You Actually Lifted
Use a complete squat, bench press and deadlift total from the same meet or testing context. You can enter that combined number directly or enter the three lifts and let the calculator add them once.
Enter bodyweight in kg or lb and choose the formula’s male or female coefficient set explicitly. If bodyweight falls outside the published range, the result shows the boundary weight the formula actually used.
- Weight unit
- Choose the unit shown on your weights.
- Bodyweight
- Enter your current bodyweight, without any extra exercise weight.
- Sex used by the DOTS formula
- Choose the male or female DOTS coefficient set used for this powerlifting score.
- Enter a total or three lifts?
- Use your combined powerlifting total, or enter your squat, bench press and deadlift separately.
- Powerlifting total
- Enter the combined squat, bench press and deadlift weight.
- Squat
- Enter the squat weight included in your total.
- Bench press
- Enter the bench press weight included in your total.
- Deadlift
- Enter the deadlift weight included in your total.
How Bodyweight Changes DOTS for the Same Total
The chart keeps your powerlifting total fixed and changes only bodyweight within the selected coefficient range. It explains how the score responds to bodyweight; it is not advice to gain or lose weight.
Your entered bodyweight is included in the chart. Use the data table for exact points and keep the selected formula attached when comparing saved scores.

How the DOTS Formula Works
DOTS converts entered weights to kilograms, applies the selected 2019 bodyweight polynomial and multiplies the total by 500 divided by that coefficient. No intermediate value is rounded.
The published calculation uses bodyweight from 40–210 kg for the male coefficients and 40–150 kg for the female coefficients. Entries outside those ranges are evaluated at the nearest boundary and clearly disclosed.

| Result | How it is calculated |
|---|---|
| DOTS score | 500 × powerlifting total in kilograms ÷ selected coefficient |
| Male coefficient | −0.000001093 × BW⁴ + 0.0007391293 × BW³ − 0.1918759221 × BW² + 24.0900756 × BW − 307.75076 |
| Female coefficient | −0.0000010706 × BW⁴ + 0.0005158568 × BW³ − 0.1126655495 × BW² + 13.6175032 × BW − 57.96288 |
| Bodyweight used | Male: 40–210 kg; Female: 40–150 kg. An out-of-range entry uses the nearest boundary and is disclosed. |

What DOTS Can and Cannot Compare
DOTS was developed for comparing powerlifting totals. It should not be used to compare one lift, another sport, a gym rep-max estimate or general health.
The method came from raw drug-tested powerlifting results and does not supply a universal percentile or qualitative tier. Federation rules, equipment and meet conditions still matter when comparing performances.
