Leg Press (45° Sled) vs Ez-Bar Romanian Deadlift Strength Standards
Compare your leg press and ez-bar romanian deadlift against strength standards for your sex and bodyweight. Enter 1–12 reps for estimated one-rep maxes, strength levels, next targets, priority.
First lift: total plates loaded on the 45-degree sled and 1–12 strict reps. Second lift: weight used and 1–12 strict reps. Pounds or kilograms. For the first exercise, keep both feet flat and approximately shoulder-width, descend until the thighs reach at least parallel to the platform without lifting the hips or rounding the lower back. For the second exercise, hinge hips back with neutral spine and bar within 2.0 cm of legs until shaft reaches the lifter's anatomical mid-shin midpoint, without floor/plate contact. Heavier lift is not automatically the stronger one.

How Your Leg Press vs EZ-Bar Romanian Deadlift Result Is Calculated
Each set is converted to an estimated max before the calculator assigns exercise-specific strength levels and compares them.
1. Estimate a one-rep max from each set
When the set contains one rep, the entered load is the estimate. For 2–12 reps, the calculator keeps the less aggressive of the two formula results.
- Epley: weight × (1 + reps ÷ 30)
- Brzycki: weight × 36 ÷ (37 − reps)
Use recent Leg Press and EZ-Bar Romanian Deadlift sets with consistent technique and full intended range of motion. Difficult lower-rep sets generally make the estimated max less dependent on extrapolation.
2. Find the 45-degree leg press strength level
The 45-degree leg press rating uses its sex-specific exercise standards. Reference targets at 190 lb for men and 150 lb for women are scaled to the entered bodyweight by reference target × (user bodyweight ÷ reference bodyweight) to the two-thirds power.
Two-thirds scaling raises the target as bodyweight rises while limiting the size advantage that a direct one-to-one adjustment would create.
3. Find the ez-bar romanian deadlift strength level
The ez-bar romanian deadlift rating uses its sex-specific exercise standards. Reference targets at 190 lb for men and 150 lb for women are scaled to the entered bodyweight by reference target × (user bodyweight ÷ reference bodyweight) to the two-thirds power.
The target rises more slowly than bodyweight so larger lifters are expected to lift more without requiring strength to increase pound for pound.
4. Compare the two results
Strength level decides the comparison first. Matching levels remain Balanced unless progress toward the next target differs by at least 10 points.
Treat the result as a training comparison rather than an explanation of why one lift trails. Set quality, fatigue, skill, and training exposure all matter. Age range is recorded anonymously but does not change these standards.
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Estimate each max | Use the entered weight for 1 rep; for 2–12 reps, keep the lower formula result. |
| Rate the leg press | Adjust 45-degree leg press targets to exact bodyweight with the two-thirds rule. |
| Rate the ez-bar romanian deadlift | Use the exercise-specific estimated max and adjust targets to exact bodyweight with the two-thirds scaling rule. |
| Compare different levels | Name the lower-level lift as the priority. |
| Compare matching levels | Use Balanced unless the difference in progress toward the next level reaches 10 points. |
Enter both sets above to see the estimated maxes, assigned levels, next-level targets, and comparison result.

Leg Press and EZ-Bar Romanian Deadlift Exercises Used by This Calculator
Valid results depend on using the specified 45-degree leg press and ez-bar romanian deadlift technique and load convention. Use strict, repeatable Leg Press and EZ-Bar Romanian Deadlift tests that follow each exercise’s setup, range of motion, equipment, and load rules. Do not mix variations, assistance, partial range, momentum, or different load conventions.
Use a 45-degree plate-loaded sled leg press
Keep both feet flat and approximately shoulder-width, descend until the thighs reach at least parallel to the platform without lifting the hips or rounding the lower back, and press to controlled full knee extension. Do not enter a horizontal, vertical, selectorized, single-leg, high-foot, partial, bounced, or assisted press.
Use the EZ-Bar Romanian Deadlift setup and load convention
Use the recorded brand-neutral Olympic EZ-bar envelope (1.15–1.25 m, 27–29 mm grips, rotating 50 mm sleeves); record actual mass/dimensions/grip and score bar/plates/collars. Use mirrored outer segments at 45–55 cm centers and palms 25–35° from full pronation. Begin motionless standing with hips/knees extended. Set knees to 15° flexion (allowed 10–20°) and keep them within ±5°. Hinge hips back with neutral spine and bar within 2.0 cm of legs until shaft reaches the lifter’s anatomical mid-shin midpoint, without floor/plate contact. Pause, then extend hips to motionless full standing. Same setup for 1–10 reps. Belt, chalk, and wrist wraps allowed. Straps/hooks, suit/briefs, knee drive/squat, bounce, shrug, floor reset, thigh support, and assistance prohibited.
