Deadlift vs Double Kettlebell Stiff Leg Deadlift Strength Standards

Compare your barbell deadlift and double kettlebell stiff-leg deadlift against strength standards for your sex and bodyweight. Enter one recent set of 1–12 reps for each lift to see estimated one-rep maxes, strength levels, next targets, and priority.

First lift: total barbell weight and 1–12 strict reps. Second lift: weight used and 1–12 strict reps. Pounds or kilograms. For the first exercise, start every rep with the bar motionless on the floor and finish standing with the hips and knees straight. For the second exercise, keep knee angle materially unchanged while hinging and standing; do not add conventional/sumo knee drive or turn the pull into a squat. Each lift is compared with its own standards, so the heavier lift is not automatically the stronger one.

Barbell Deadlift vs Double Kettlebell Stiff-Leg Deadlift Strength Standards

These bodyweight tables place the barbell deadlift and double kettlebell stiff-leg deadlift targets side by side from Novice through Elite. Use them to compare standards, not to force a particular ratio between the lifts.

Find the closest row in the men’s or women’s table. Every target lists Barbell Deadlift / Double Kettlebell Stiff-Leg Deadlift, pounds first and kilograms second. Enter your own sets above for exact ratings without testing a true one-rep max.

How Your Barbell Deadlift vs Double Kettlebell Stiff-Leg Deadlift Result Is Calculated

The calculator estimates both one-rep maxes, rates each one against its exercise and bodyweight standards, and then compares the two ratings.

1. Estimate a one-rep max from each set

The entered weight is used directly for one rep. With 2–12 reps, both estimates are compared and the lower value is used.

  • Epley: weight × (1 + reps ÷ 30)
  • Brzycki: weight × 36 ÷ (37 − reps)

Use recent Barbell Deadlift and Double Kettlebell Stiff-Leg Deadlift sets with consistent technique and full intended range of motion. Difficult lower-rep sets generally make the estimated max less dependent on extrapolation.

2. Find the barbell deadlift strength level

For barbell deadlift, the individual exercise thresholds start from reference bodyweights of 190 lb for men and 150 lb for women. Exact-bodyweight targets use reference target × (user bodyweight ÷ reference bodyweight) to the two-thirds power.

Two-thirds scaling raises the target as bodyweight rises while limiting the size advantage that a direct one-to-one adjustment would create.

3. Find the double kettlebell stiff-leg deadlift strength level

The standards use the sex-specific thresholds from the individual Double Kettlebell Stiff-Leg Deadlift tool. Targets begin at 190 lb for men and 150 lb for women, then adjust to exact bodyweight with reference target × (user bodyweight ÷ reference bodyweight) to the two-thirds power.

The target rises more slowly than bodyweight so larger lifters are expected to lift more without requiring strength to increase pound for pound.

4. Compare the two results

Strength level decides the comparison first. Matching levels remain Balanced unless progress toward the next target differs by at least 10 points.

Treat the result as a training comparison rather than an explanation of why one lift trails. Set quality, fatigue, skill, and training exposure all matter. Age range is recorded anonymously but does not change these standards.

StageWhat happens
Estimate each maxUse the entered weight for 1 rep; for 2–12 reps, keep the lower formula result.
Rate the barbell deadliftAdjust barbell deadlift targets to exact bodyweight with the two-thirds rule.
Rate the double kettlebell stiff-leg deadliftUse the exercise-specific estimated max and adjust targets to exact bodyweight with the two-thirds scaling rule.
Compare different levelsName the lower-level lift as the priority.
Compare matching levelsUse Balanced unless the difference in progress toward the next level reaches 10 points.

The calculator above applies these steps to your exact entries and reports both lift ratings, both next targets, and the final comparison.

Barbell Deadlift and Double Kettlebell Stiff-Leg Deadlift Exercises Used by This Calculator

For a useful comparison, perform a strict barbell deadlift and a strict double kettlebell stiff-leg deadlift using the setup and load rules below. Use strict, repeatable Barbell Deadlift and Double Kettlebell Stiff-Leg Deadlift tests that follow each exercise’s setup, range of motion, equipment, and load rules. Do not mix variations, assistance, partial range, momentum, or different load conventions.

Use a conventional barbell deadlift from the floor

Start every rep with the bar motionless on the floor and finish standing with the hips and knees straight. Do not bounce the bar, use touch-and-go reps, hitch it up the thighs, or enter a rack pull, block pull, trap-bar deadlift, Romanian deadlift, machine variation, or equipped result.

Use the Double Kettlebell Stiff-Leg Deadlift setup and load convention

Use two equal kettlebells. Enter one kettlebell’s verified mass; display per-kettlebell and combined weight; calculate e1RM and standards from the combined pair. Place one bell outside each foot with both bells motionless on the floor. Use a fixed, repeatable stance and grip, arms long, shoulders packed, trunk braced, and spine neutral. Set both knees at 10 degrees flexion with a tolerance of plus or minus 5 degrees. Keep knee angle materially unchanged while hinging and standing; do not add conventional/sumo knee drive or turn the pull into a squat. Lift both bells simultaneously to motionless full hip and knee extension with arms long and shoulders controlled. No hitch, thigh support, staggered finish, or backward lean. Lower both bells under control along the outside of the legs and let both settle on the floor before each of 1–8 counted reps. The same stance, bell geometry, knee angle, range, and strictness apply throughout. Chalk, belt, wrist wraps, and stable shoes are allowed. Straps/hooks, supportive suits, assistance, unequal bells, and asynchronous reps are prohibited.
