2026 Air Force PT Test Calculator

Use this 2026 USAF PT calculator to estimate an Air Force Physical Fitness Readiness Assessment (PFRA) score. A passing result requires at least 75 points plus the cardio, strength, and core minimums; a high total does not erase a missed component minimum. Choose the official scoring column and age band, enter height and waist for waist-to-height ratio, then add one cardio, strength, and core result. The scorecard returns your total, pass or fail, component breakdown, next breakpoint, and practical paths to 75 or 90, including 2-mile run and HAMR options. The calculator uses the 17 March 2026 PFRA chart currently linked from the Air Force Culture of Fitness page, applies published thresholds without interpolation, and treats exactly 90.0 as Excellent under the documented rule for this build. It is an unofficial estimate, keeps entries in this browser, and compares only alternative events you actually enter.

How to use the Air Force PT test calculator

Start with the scoring column and age band printed for your assessment, then enter your official height and waist measurements. Choose one cardio, one strength, and one core event and enter a practice result for each selected event.

  1. Choose your scoring profile. The nine age bands and male/female columns use different published thresholds.
  2. Select the events you plan to take. Your selected cardio, strength, and core events determine the primary score.
  3. Enter practice results. Leave alternatives blank unless you want them compared.
  4. Review the scorecard. Check the total, every required minimum, and the next published breakpoint before using a goal path.

The calculator never invents a result for an event you did not enter. If you enter all seven exercise options, it evaluates all 12 ordinary cardio-strength-core combinations.

How 2026 PFRA scoring works

The ordinary PFRA adds four components for a maximum of 100 points. Exercise thresholds are inclusive steps from the published chart; the calculator does not interpolate between rows.

Body composition20No separate component minimumWaist-to-height ratio
Strength15At least 2.5 pointsPush-ups or hand-release push-ups

Waist-to-height ratio is waist divided by height and truncated—not rounded—to two decimal places. Repetition, shuttle, and time results are matched to exact published thresholds.

Passing rules and the exactly 90.0 decision

A passing result requires at least 75 total points and the cardio, strength, and core minimums. Missing even one exercise minimum produces an Unsatisfactory result, regardless of the arithmetic total.

ConditionClassificationResult
90.0–100.0 and every component minimum metExcellentPass
75.0–89.9 and every component minimum metSatisfactoryPass
Below 75.0UnsatisfactoryFail
Any cardio, strength, or core minimum missedUnsatisfactory, regardless of totalFail

For this calculator, 90.0 is classified as Excellent. AFMAN 36-2905 prints Excellent as greater than 90 and Satisfactory as less than 90, leaving exactly 90.0 uncovered; the controlling direction for this build resolves that gap transparently in favor of Excellent.

Example: 20 body-composition points + 45 cardio + 12.5 strength + 12.5 core = exactly 90.0 and is Excellent when all required exercise minimums are met.

Cardio, strength, and core event options

The calculator supports the seven ordinary exercise options in the current chart: 2-mile run, 20-meter HAMR, 1-minute push-ups, 2-minute hand-release push-ups, 1-minute sit-ups, 2-minute cross-leg reverse crunches, and forearm plank.

Select the combination you intend to score. Additional entered alternatives appear in the comparison table, where the highest score and the safest minimum-margin choice are identified separately. “Safest” is a scoring-margin comparison, not advice about injury risk or which event feels easiest.

Understanding goals, breakpoints, and test-day buffers

The next breakpoint is the nearest published performance that earns more points in that component. A goal path combines those real chart steps to reach the selected target without inventing fractional thresholds.

  • Component breakdown: shows your entered result, awarded points, required minimum, and next useful breakpoint.
  • Goal paths: favor fewer changed components and fewer scoring steps before using minimum-margin and stable-order tie breakers.
  • Conservative buffer: worsens the entered practice values by amounts you choose and reruns the entire score.

The conservative result is a deterministic scenario, not a probability, prediction, or personalized testing recommendation.

Official sources and scoring-chart differences

Controlling chart: this calculator uses the PFRA scoring chart dated 17 March 2026 that is currently linked from the Air Force Culture of Fitness page. The threshold dataset contains all 3,312 ordinary scoring cells.

Two official-source discrepancies are deliberately visible instead of being silently resolved:

  • The legacy fixed PFRA chart URL and the chart currently linked from the Culture of Fitness page contain different thresholds. Example: male age 30–34 at 3.0 push-up points is 26 repetitions in the legacy file and 28 in the current linked chart. This calculator uses the current linked chart by explicit user direction.
  • AFMAN 36-2905 prints Excellent as greater than 90 and ranges that leave exactly 90.0 unclassified. This calculator treats exactly 90.0 as Excellent by explicit user direction dated 2026-08-06.

The separate July 2026 myBodyComp collection is described as a one-time baseline and does not change the ordinary PFRA score calculated here.

Air Force PFRA calculator FAQs

Is this an official Air Force score?

No. This is an unofficial practice estimate. Official PFRA results are recorded in myFitness.

Can I pass with 75 points if I miss a component minimum?

No. You need at least 75 total points and the minimum in cardio, strength, and core.

Why does this calculator call exactly 90.0 Excellent?

The published AFMAN ranges leave 90.0 uncovered. This build follows the explicit controlling decision to classify exactly 90.0 as Excellent and discloses the conflict.

Can I compare alternate events?

Yes. Enter any additional event results you want compared. Unentered events remain untested and are never predicted.

Does the calculator store my results?

No identifying information is requested, and the calculator does not send scores to a server. Copy, share, and print output excludes names, service identifiers, units, email addresses, and locations.

What is outside this calculator’s scope?

It does not calculate exemptions, the medically authorized 2-kilometer walk, AFSPECWAR or EOD occupational standards, Space Force tests, BMT or technical-training standards, personalized due dates, or pass probabilities.
