2026 Presidential Physical Fitness Test Calculator

The 2026 Presidential Physical Fitness Test is back. It measures three parts of well-rounded fitness: core strength and endurance, cardio fitness, and upper-body strength. For students, parents, teachers, and coaches, the result goes beyond “pass” or “not yet”—it shows where a participant performed best or tied across categories, what needs work, and which goal is closest.

Use the calculator below to see how a student’s—or your own—test results measure up to the published White House 2026 benchmarks in seconds. Select the Boys or Girls age row, then enter one event from each category: curl-ups or plank, one-mile run or beep test, and push-ups or pull-ups. Endura instantly shows whether all three Presidential categories were met, calculates the exact margin for every event, and checks the separately published National benchmark too. No decoding a PDF, converting times, searching age tables, or doing the math yourself.

Reestablished in 2025, the test returns in 2026 with standards drawn from historical benchmarks and additional fitness data. The Presidential benchmark rewards well-rounded fitness by requiring at least one qualifying result in all three categories. Use the calculator to check a student’s test, choose the next training goal, prepare for a retest, or see how your own results compare. No identifying information is collected, and the privacy-safe result is easy to copy or share. The published 17+ row is a table label, not an age-adjusted standard for every adult; Endura independently checks the White House fitness page and benchmark PDF but does not administer the test or issue an award.

How to use the calculator

Select the published Boys or Girls group and the exact age row, including the literal 17+ row when applicable. Choose one core event, one cardiorespiratory event, and one upper-body event, then enter all three results before calculating.

  1. Choose the official group and age.
  2. Choose exactly one event in each category.
  3. Enter counts as whole numbers and times as minutes plus seconds or normalized total seconds.
  4. Review the Presidential result first, then the National comparison and exact margins.

How to read your benchmark result

The primary result reports how many of the three selected categories meet the Presidential thresholds. Three of three means the entered results meet the published Presidential benchmark; anything less identifies the category or categories not yet met.

The National result is calculated separately from the National thresholds embedded in the current White House page. These comparisons do not establish that a school administered the test correctly or that an award was issued.

What the calculator measures

This calculator measures the selected performance in core and abdominal strength, cardiorespiratory fitness, and upper-body strength against the exact published row for the chosen group and age. It does not estimate a general fitness percentile, health diagnosis, training readiness, or adult age adjustment.

Each selected event is evaluated independently before the three category results are combined.

What changed from the earlier Presidential Fitness Test

The 2026 calculator should not be described as a simple copy of the test many adults remember. The official record shows three distinct stages: the mid-1980s award test, its 2012 replacement, and the reestablished test with current 2026 benchmarks.

Authoritative comparison of the earlier test and the 2026 test
PeriodOfficial structureRecognition or purpose
Mid-1980s testFive components: sit-ups; an upper-body option; one-mile walk/run; V-sit reach; and shuttle run.The 1985 survey established National recognition for the 50th–85th percentiles and Presidential recognition at or above the 85th percentile.
2012 replacementThe former Physical Fitness Test became the Presidential Youth Fitness Program. The archived White House announcement says the emphasis shifted from athletic performance toward health-related fitness.
Reestablished test and 2026 benchmarksChoose one event in each of three categories: core, cardiorespiratory fitness, and upper-body strength.Current White House rules require one qualifying result in all three categories for the Presidential benchmark and publish a separate National level.

Limitations, privacy, and version

Norms/calculation version: white-house-2026-06-22-source-v1. This independent calculator determines whether the entered results meet the published 2026 benchmark. Endura does not administer the test or issue an official award. The 17+ row is a published label, not a validated age-adjusted standard for all adults. No names, schools, birth dates, locations, or other child-identifying information are requested or shared.

The official sources use categorical Boys and Girls tables and do not publish an alternative mapping in these benchmark materials. This calculator reproduces those labels without collecting names, schools, dates of birth, or location.
